Fall 2026 will mark my 25th year of teaching voice!
I have been teaching private voice lessons since 2001, when I opened up my first “studio” in the living room of my parents house after college. Since then, I taught at New York University, Manhattan School of Music, and then locally at the PA Academy of Music, Popovsky Performing Arts, and Linden Hall, until I opened up my own studio in 2019. I have taught approximately over 1000+ students in my lifetime. Many have stayed with me for a long time.
Why I love to teach 1:1 voice lessons: It’s the part of my work that always lights me up the most. I love interacting with my students and helping them unlock the parts of their instrument that they didn’t know about. I celebrate their joys and hold space for their challenges. We grow together at every lesson.
The Stage: I have been a musical theatre performer since age 9 and grew up outside of Philadelphia. I started performing early in grade school, earned my music degree at Gettsyburg College, and completed an M.A. at New York University in Musical Theatre.
I traveled---performing in the continental United States before settling in Lancaster in 2008.
I sang jazz in high school, toured Europe as the lead singer of Gettysburg College’s Big Band, and performed locally in a jazz trio.
My stage experience background helps to support my students in auditioning and performing. Learn more about my roles/show here.
I teach CCM Styles - What is CCM? = Contemporary Commercial Music:
singer-songwriter / folk / R&B / soul / pop / musical theatre / jazz / rock--
I love it all — and I love helping people sing the styles they love. My CCM training is through Jeanie LoVetri’s Somatic Voicework™ Levels 1-3, and Graduate Certification, from 2010-2024.
My path to Sound Healing: I became acquainted with the therapies of sound healing when I was recommended to learn from Lana Ryder at Soundwise Healing in 2018.
I had my own kundalini moment in the woods in the Adirondacks that summer through my own voice and movement, and was introduced to intoning on the chakras that August.
Sound became my way “in” to the healing arts.
Singing meditation was my ‘gateway” into the ability to do silent meditation.
I gained deeper knowledge through Vibrational Sound Therapy in 2019.
Nervous System Regulation: In 2022-2023, I recognized that I wanted to go deeper to learn about how to regulate the nervous system, so I engaged in group work with Rebecca Bee, Positive Intelliegence methods, and with Irene Lyon of SE lineage.
This work helped me to gain more ability to regulate my own nervous system and have more ability to show up for others.
Specifically, in my studio, I am able to teach these practices to my students as they prepare for their own challenges, especially in terms of singing in front of other people, auditioning, etc.
Lancaster Love: I love living in Lancaster, surrounded by so many growing small businesses — many of them female-owned. It’s a gift to be part of a community where women lift one another up. Not local to Lancaster? I also teach online.
What I create --Over the years, I've:
=> led group sound meditations, singing circles, retreats, and workshops.
=> written original songs for group singing, community, joy, reflection, well-being, and contemplation.
=> created my own Video Courses for people to learn how to sing for enjoyment, professional goals, or for well-being in their body.
Ready to Start your singing journey? If you’d like to learn from me, a video course is a GREAT way to get started.
However, my deepest, most transformative work is 1:1.
I bring my full background — voice, pedagogy, nervous system work, creativity, care and crystalize it into each 1:1 lesson.
