The Somatic Singing Circle
Sing. Move. Release.
In a circle, in community— we laugh, we move, we sing accessible songs, we shake shakers, make fun sounds, and create incredible music together in just one hour.
Join if you:
-
Want (or need) to sing
-
Are curious about somatic + vocal release (yes—this includes calming your nervous system)
-
Want to move your body
-
Want to have fun
What is it?
The circle is guided in a fun, playful atmosphere, with a grounded awareness of the times we’re living in.
Songs are chosen to support joy, release, nervous system regulation, and connection with those in the room.
We sing:
-
Songs with simple, repetitive words
-
Non-word sounds (ohs, ahs, etc.)
Music is a mix of:
-
Original songs and mantras by Jen Rose
-
Songs by artists like Alexa Sunshine Rose, Alexandra “Ahlay” Blakley, A Beautiful Chorus, Desiree Dawson, and more
-
Some songs may feel familiar from pop culture, while others may be created spontaneously by the group.
What do we do?
-
Sit in a circle (chairs or floor—your choice)
-
Begin with a shruti OM to ground and center
-
Gentle body warm-up + stretch (honor your body and capacity)
-
Vocal warm-ups (slides, glides, call & response)
-
Group call & response (teacher- and peer-led)
-
Vocal + movement games with shakers
-
Learn accessible songs on the spot (or over time)
-
Choose your level: stay on melody or explore harmony
-
Close with a “Medicine Melody” (If you know, you know. If you don’t—you’ll learn instantly.)
Community Standards:
-
All people are treated with respect, kindness, and inclusion
-
All voice types, body types, and gender identities are welcome
-
You choose your level of participation—opting out is always okay

Singing & Drumming Circles
Circle singing is a way to combine voice, sound, and well-being in community. When we drum, move, or sing together, we move stuck energy, and feel a sense of community as we connect with others and to our own sense of well-being.
Jen leads groups (8 to 20) in circle at local studios, or she can come to your space to lead your small group and facilitate joy, connection, and well-being.

Sound Meditations

When we take the time to lay down, and receive the calming vibrations of a sound & voice mediation, we allow ourselves deep relaxation.
The aural sounds help to raise the parasympathetic part of our nervous system. We are able to slip into "meditation" more easily through sound.
In-person attendees are encouraged to bring comforts to support their body while laying down: a thick, cushy mat, a blanket, a pillow, a prop for under the legs, even a eye mask.
If you are attending online, recommendations are to lay down in bed, wear headphones, and turn off all notifications.
After a sound & voice mediation, take time to allow yourself to "come out" slowly, make time for reflection & not move quickly into your next appointment, and drink lots of water.

Somatic Singing Class

The Somatic Singing Class is a 10-week offering to help you learn in community with others how to sing, regulate your nervous system, and feel more confident about your voice.
Weekly 75min classes in tandem with the "Sing Your Heart Out" video Curriculum helps to support your journey in a small group of 8-12 other singers.
Jen led these classes in 2024 at the Soundwise Health Studio in Lancaster, PA.
This beautiful, magical class is on hold TBD.
Reach out via email if you would like to host it at your space with a small group.
